Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 2 PM

Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts, Hope College

221 Columbia Avenue, Holland, MI 49423

As part of Holland Symphony Orchestra’s 2025 Gift of Music summer offerings, we are excited to announce a special pair of concerts featuring the violin superstar Midori.  She will make her Holland debut with music director and conductor Johannes Müller Stosch and the HSO in two performances of Mendelssohn’s towering Violin Concerto and Arvo Pärt’s raucous double violin concerto entitled Tabula Rasa with ZenViolin creator and prodigy Moni Simeonov.  The program will include Mendelssohn’s whimsical Hebrides Overture “Fingal’s Cave” and J. S. Bach’s regal Orchestral Suite No. 1.  The concerts will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 2 pm at the Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts, Hope College.

Midori is a visionary artist, activist, and educator who explores and builds connections between music and the human experience.  In the four decades since her debut with the New York Philharmonic at age 11, the “simply magical” (Houston Chronicle) violinist has performed with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and has collaborated with world-renowned musicians including Leonard Bernstein, Yo-Yo Ma, and many others.

Subscribers and donors may now purchase tickets to these concerts and claim their favorite seats before tickets go on sale to the public at 10 AM on April 14.  Please email Amanda at ticketing@hollandsymphony.org with “Midori” in the subject line.  Please make sure to include which concert you would like to attend.  She will set up a reservation for you in our ticketing system.  Once your seats are reserved you will receive an email with a special link to complete the purchase process online, or Amanda will call you and take care of your order over the phone at 616-796-6780.  Donor Non-Subscribers will get the best available seats as they become available from subscribers.

Please note our new tiered seating scale in the diagram by clicking here. These are special event prices and are not part of a subscription package.  The 2025-2026 season line-up and subscription packages will be announced at the end of April.
